A Storehouse Update

Friday, March 7th, 2008

Dear Friend of The Storehouse,

Once again we wish to deeply thank all of you who have been praying, supporting, and encouraging … we have had a remarkable week.

In our leaders’ meeting last Thursday, everyone (about 14 of us) shared what they’ve witnessed the Lord do in the past few weeks … and, I’m thrilled to report, the Holy Spirit is showing up in the front lines of service!

A few highlights:

  • One of our leaders had to leave the meeting a little early to meet with an ex-con … and led him to the Lord!
  • Another leader has so many coming to Jesus in low income housing, she’s had to set up simple discipleship gatherings on site!
  • A new friend shared how homeless and impoverished men are coming to the Lord and seeing their lives changed!
  • Several discipleship venues are thriving, including a new group of young men at UNL!
  • Two opportunities have arisen to lead teach worship dance to youth and children
  • The Angel Food feeding ministry continues to grow, and saw a family come to the Lord!
  • A team prepares to leave and minister to the impoverished in Pakistan!

We also received the encouraging letter from one of our leaders who was working that evening and couldn’t be with us …

Denny and myself were at the bike show in Lincoln this past weekend and went out for lunch at Wendy’s on Saturday. There were two teen age girls serving at the checkout stand … they both prayed the prayer to receive Christ as Savior with us, and were born again. We handed out tracts to the rest of the customers there also.
When I arrived home on Sunday evening, there was a phone message on my machine. It said “I don’t appreciate you preaching to my daughter while she’s at work. If you do it again, I will prosecute you. And I don’t like you scaring the ##!!?? out of her either”. It was a woman’s voice, and we later found out it was [one of the girl’s] mom. I called Denny and gave him the lady’s phone number and we decided that he should be the one who would call her back, while a few of us prayed. To make a long story short, Denny didn’t end up talking to the lady that called my number, he ended up talking to her husband. And her husband started out being hostile but ended up receiving Christ himself. Thank you Jesus !!!! You can’t make this stuff up. Shows you that Jesus is in charge, not us.
Denny and I went out tonight, Wednesday, and between the two of us, prayed with eight people to receive Christ. I prayed with one person through an interpreter (Spanish). We went to the Holiday Inn Central, Crossroads Mall, and the Westroads Mall. At the Westroads, we went into Von Maur to the Customer Service counter where the mall shootings took place and talked with the ladies there and gave them money and tracts. We handed out many more tracts and the harvest could be greater, but we’ll only know the results in heaven….

I had the opportunity to preach at Christ’s Place in Lincoln last Sunday evening … and what a privilege to have all these wonderful stories to illustrate how God wants to move through His people in power!

To paraphrase…. “I [we] will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me [my friends] in leading the Gentiles to obey God what I[we] have said and done – by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem[downtown Omaha] all the way around to Illyricum [the Sandhills], I [we] have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ” Rom. 15:18-20

Please continue to hold up this nascent storehouse movement in prayer. It would seem the fulfillment of the prophecy below is starting to come to pass!

“Eric, My son, the time has come for you to put away the expectations of those around you and to follow in the path I have laid out before you. A season of waiting is behind you and a season of action is before you.” (I saw a picture of you in a big cardboard box and I then saw you climbing out of it.)
“The days are shortening and I have positioned you for such a time as this. You must not delay, My son – time is short and the cries of the hungry and hurting are getting louder still. You have a task to fulfill – a barn to raise.” (I saw a picture of an old fashioned neighborhood barn raising. This barn was on stilts. Underneath it I saw various scenes: homeless people huddled together, a small gathering of people around a Bible, someone hugging a person, someone with a stethoscope listening to a hurting person’s heart, and warm clothing being given to others.)
“The standard by which you have operated is no longer needed. For this day, this new day, begins an unending river of grace. It is time. It is time to leave the old.” (I saw that a river was flowing under the barn, and I realized that it started there and flowed from that place. I was impressed with Ez. 47 the river that flows from the temple. Then I saw that there was a waterwheel attached to the side of this barn…

Prayer requests:

  • That the river described above would flow unimpeded, pure and unending.
  • Our next monthly gathering is Mar. 8 at Turning Point. We need His Presence, direction and empowering. This is one of three regional gatherings for the year, so we’ll have a few out-of-town friends with us, Dave Kelly leading worship and Jeff Kaiser & friends praying and prophesying over us.
  • A multiplication of new leaders to come forth. If people continue to come into the Kingdom at this rate, we’ll need disciplers x many.
  • The website has been slow in coming, but is needed. Pray the software development will finish well and finish soon.
  • More hunger, more humility, more obedience.

Your friends forever,
Eric & Marnie
